Behold and watch in awe
Who: All Psychonauts, Counselors, and Jr. Counselors!
When: Just before curfew on the 9th
Where: Ford's Sanctuary
What: Something wicked this way comes
Warnings: TBH
As camp calms down for the night, all the campers (hopefully) in their cabins, all counselors, junior counselors, and visiting Psychonauts will receive a message. Report to the Sanctuary A.S.A.P. It's simple, but even newcomers who haven't truly met Ford Cruller in his right mind will be able to detect the sense of urgency. It doesn't matter how you get to the heart of Whispering Rock, simply that you get there. If it's your first time coming down to the Sanctuary, there are numerous others who have been down below enough times that will show you the way.
Upon arrival to the luminous lair, holograms whirling around the central stage full of information, there's no immediate sight of the Noble Psychomaster and head counselor. Not yet, anyways. For the meantime, you will be left to gather so that no one misses the information that Cruller has gathered you here tonight for.
(What it says on the tin! Feel free to mingle with one another below--even try to guess what you might've been summoned down here for--before Ford steps in to begin the meeting.)

You don't get one guy who's the entire staff without being a bit suspicious.
Still, she's trying not to show it. She nudges her nearest companion. "Megas neat place, isn't it? All high tech and stuff!"
no subject
"It's been here since I was a camper, apparently." N is admiring the technology, eyes taking in as much of it as he can--actually, with Ford not here, it occurs to him that this might be his chance to really look at it.
Hmmmm.
Then he stops, pausing to actually look at Tsuruya.
"You're... ah, a junior counsellor, right?"

"It's always great when you finally see the truth, isn't it?" He glances back over the collected machinery, eyes reflecting a hunger for the technology behind them.
"I wonder..."
He takes a step forward--then another. And another. He's headed towards the nearest console, intending to at least get a quick look at it from up close.
no subject
Speaking of snooping. "Hey, whatchya looking at?" she asks.
no subject
N bends down into a crouch, one hand resting on the console while he peers at the screens studiously. He squints just a bit, as though trying to figure it out.
This really is an impressive piece of work, from what little he can tell--unfortunately, he knows that the only way to really learn what's going on inside is to open it up, and even he's not curious enough risk that.
Or rather, he is, but he has just enough sense not to. A pity.
He turns to look at Tsuruya again, wearing his inquisitiveness on his face. "Do you like machines?"
no subject
She nods. "Yeah! They're pretty neat! I don't really tinker with them much myself though."
no subject
"It's even more inspiring than those notes of mine, isn't it?" His response is far more sober than any he'd given at their last meeting. "If you're curious about anything I can tell you about it before the meeting starts.

Though he's occasionally glancing around the room to see if the proceedings are starting, he's paying attention to her.

"I haven't heard anything since I was told she was on the rota to come back to teach this year. Of course, she might just be delayed at an airport. I'm sure we'll hear soon."

oops posted too early eheh
Zach, would you look at this? This place would be right at home in any Bond movie. ... ok, almost any, if you don't count some of the newer ones.

Does your friend have any clue why we've been called here?

He projects a hazy but colourful image of those assembled to his counsellor, the palette tainted green with uncertainty. And then the image of Sanderson, still hazy but dyed in the usual gold palette that Bunny always saw him in his head, moving his hands as if explaining. Did Sandy know anything?]
no subject
Sandy raised his hand to his chin, signing to Bunny- all his fingers were curled into his palm except his pinky and thumb which extended their full length. His knuckles tapped his chin as the two visible fingers framed his face. His expression was serious. Wrong. He projected a picture of a question mark. But what, I cannot say. ]
no subject
Frowning, Bunny can't help but look a little disappointed. He wants to know what's going on- and a flash of trouble in his precognitive episode has him concerned. Of course, Sanderson can't know everything.
He signs the next bit of communication hesitantly, as he tries to remember correctly. Guess... wait... see. They'd have to hold out a little longer to figure it out...]

[Hey, guess who noticed you snooping, Stiles?]
no subject
Oh-- my God, dude, don't sneak up on me like that.
[But he drops his hands from where they'd been touching, squinting at the hologram instead.] I'm not touching anything, I'm just, y'know. Examining.
no subject
Sorry, sorry. Didn't realise you were so engrossed. Just be cautious, I'm sure he's got tricks up his sleeves even when he's not around.
You're Stilinski, right? The Mediumship junior? [York finally caught up on his roster notes, looks like.]
no subject
Yeah, no kidding, this thing's rigged up tighter than Fort Knox. Maybe if Danny was here, he could hack into it, but...[Danny was a normal person, no psychic powers--a friend from back home. To be honest, if you really gave Stiles enough time, he could figure it out himself. He tears his attention away from where he was memorizing something on one of the holograms, lifting his head up in a sup motion.] "Stilinski"'s my dad, you can just call me Stiles.
no subject
Fair enough. I'm... [Hold on, he has to think about this.] Precognition Counselor Francis York Morgan. Please, call me York. That's what everyone calls me.
Maybe Danny could, maybe not. Can't say I'd know what to do with the information inside, though.
no subject
Stiles offers his hand forward to shake.] 's nice to meet you, York. Not a first name guy, huh. [Not that he can really talk.] Are you new around here? I haven't seen you before.
[The grin on his face turns a little mischievous.] Dude, the question is what couldn't you do with it. Besides, you never know when it might come in handy.
no subject
I am new in a way... this is my first year as a counselor, but I used to be a camper about 20 years ago or so. Always interesting to see what life is like from the other side.
That's true enough. Information is always helpful, especially for investigations. You just need to know who else wants that information and how far they're willing to go to get it.
no subject
And of course, how should he react besides complete and utter awe to the sight before him. "Amazing...!"
So, until the meeting begins, he was spending his time zipping around to look at all of the whirling holograms, trying to read all of the information they offered as they flew around. Of course, he understood there was some serious business happening, but it's not like being nervous or downcast would do any good!

She's trying not to let the tension get to her, but right now the only way she's able to deal with it is by walking around. She wants answers, dammit.
Apacci pauses by Komui after a moment.]
Any clue what this is about?
no subject
Not a complete disaster, otherwise we wouldn't be wasting time gathering, but it's probably something we need to be aware of to protect our younger charges.
no subject
[Though Apacci's mouthy with her peers and wasn't the most likely candidate for Jr. Counselor, she's actually pretty responsible about her duties and shows some respect to authority figures. There is absolutely no one she respects more than Milla Vodello and her own adoptive mother Agent Harribel, though.]
No one's hurting any psychic kids on my watch while I'm breathing and conscious.
no subject
Anyone who tries will be in for a nasty shock. We've gathered up a particularly talented group here this year.
no subject
[She was rescued from an encounter with one such person as a child and while Apacci could never be called maternal, she's pretty diligent about things that threaten the younger campers' safety.]
no subject
It's not all right at all. However, try to leave the heavy maiming to the adults to have government licences to use maximum force.
[He's worried that enthusiasm might lead to her to take more risks than she might be able to handle]

Arms folded behind his back, he walks amongst them.
"As you know, multiple members of our staff have either resigned to focus full-time on missions and research, or have been away on extended missions." He casts a glance to an actually ruffled looking Sasha Nein over his shoulder, then back to his audience. "As of right now, all junior counselors without a full-fledged agent acting as their superiors are in charge of lessons. If there is more than one of you, I'd like ya to collaborate with each other. You can't give badges, but you can work on teachin' kids 'bout your specialties. I trust y'all to figure out the best way to go about it. If any counselors or agents wanna help 'em, act as mentors until their bosses come in."
Taking a breath, he gestures with a hand. The holograms shift, showing data on the levitation counselor, Milla Vodello. Her smiling face looks down on them.
"Now, most'a you know that Agent Vodello's been on a mission right now, which's why she's been gone. But as of this week, we haven't heard word from her. It's been reported to headquarters that she's overdue and hasn't reported in, but there ain't much they can do right now." Before Sasha can look any more obviously vexed, Ford continues. "She could just be deep under cover, as she's done before, but I'll need everyone extra attentive. Don't tell the cadets, not yet. We don't wanna worry anyone 'fore we know for real that there's something to worry 'bout."
With a heavy sigh, he unfolds a hand from behind himself, gesturing at them. "Now, any questions?"

"If we're allowed to know -- where should she be by now?" he asks, after few still seconds.
no subject
"We had scheduled times for her to check in, and she ain't done it for 'bout two weeks. Not the first time it's happened, but we all gotta be ready for anything."
no subject
[The possibility that something could happen to Milla Vodello hadn't occurred to Apacci. She has faith in her mentor and greatly admires her. But that she hasn't reported in...that gives Apacci a sinking feeling in her stomach.
She raises her hand - which isn't something she often bothers with. It's testament to how worried she is that she bothered with for]
Tsuruya and Martin already covered them, but: Where was she sent for her mission and when was she supposed to check in?
[Not that she's really in a position to do anything about it, but details are better than vague information.]
no subject
The east coast, here in the States. She was tracking someone, and last I heard she was actually wrappin' up and was gonna be headin' back early to report on her findings. But that was two weeks ago.
We had a setup, for her to check in two times a week. She's missed all four check ins, to this point.

"What are we going to tell the children when they ask what's happening with their levitation lessons?"
no subject
Ford doesn't like risking it, but he reaches and hefts up a large chunk of psitanium, rigged to a harness. Right now, with Milla gone, he's willing to go out and about with his strange rock backpack to get things done.
